The Coathangers Remixed takes two tracks from the frenetic Alt rockers and adds some electro madness to them. Arthritis Sux(Judy Chicago Remix) is a fast paced Electro Rock/House mix that barely maintains it's sanity. 143(Dan Deacon Remix) is a quirky, Electro Rock remix. Both are superb and the remixes give the original tracks a fresh look and feel while maintaining their essence.

Tomboy is the latest single from Panda Bear. The title track, Tomboy, is quintessential Panda Bear - Indie Rock with dreamy, floating lyrics and an electro ambient backdrop. The second track, Slow Motion speaks for itself, a slow moving track with staccato beats and dreamy vocals. An excellent representation of Panda Bear that should appeal to Rockers and RPM's.

NYIKO BEGUIN (VT,NH)
Nyiko Beguin started making music when he was seven years old. Beguin pulls from a wonderfully eclectic list of influences. Initially focusing on hip-hop, then later branching out into improvisational piano, pop punk, and more recently electro-folk rock. Beguin is an artist that has the ability to meld genres and accommodate a wide listenership. Beguin stays true to his passion and sound, but takes note on the ever-changing environment of music and art.

ENTRICUT of NATURAL INGREDIENTS (VT)
Natural Ingredients was formed in 2006 by four kids at UVM in Burlington, Vermont with mutual musical interest in the art of hip hop. Hailing from Maine, Vermont, New York and New Jersey, the four original members of Natty I came together with a unifying passion to create original tracks for both themselves and, of course, the party people.

The Judas Syndrome- Underneath Blood Skies
independently released April 20, 2010
The Judas Syndrome is described as a band that seeks to bring back what they call the truest form of thrash metal. They are made up of veteran musicians from the NY Metal/Hardcore scene and come from bands such as Afflitus, Stifling Neglect and Irate. "Si Vis Pacem...Para Bellum" is very ambient at first and it's similar in style to the intro to "Electric Eye" by Judas Priest, eventually giving way to well-timed thrash drumming with a slight hardcore bent to it. "The Inception Of Sodom" is slightly distorted and full of a decent thrash drums/guitars mated to a time signature full of hardcore breakdowns in-between. "Underneath Blood Skies" is one of the stronger tracks, showcasing the talents of Chris Oblivion and Ian "Kunki" Syndrome. "The Aftermath" is another great track, short but full of ambience. In conclusion, this album starts off on a slow note, peaks in the middle and then flattens out towards the end. They've got a good handle on instrumentation and I would love to see them develop their chops more, expanding on what they have going in the title track. There's an obvious old-school influence mated to modern thrash metal. Check out this album.

Infectious Grooves & Cyco Mike- Funk It Up & Punk It Up: Live in France '95
released April 19, 2010 on Suicidal Records
This is a special live release from Infectious Grooves and Cyco Mike, which are technically the same people but with a slightly different style. The lineup of both at the time consisted of Brooks Wackerman (Bad Religion), Robert Trujillo (Metallica), Mike Muir and Dean Pleasants (Suicidal Tendencies) and Dave Nassie (No Use For A Name). Upon first listen, I have trouble deciphering the musical style/styles that they are trying to evoke. This can be a good thing because styles do not have to be rigid. On the Cyco Mike side, "Cyco Mike Wants You" starts off with strong hardcore hooks and drums. Sound quality could be better though. "F.U.B.A.R" and "All I Ever Get" have a similar formula. Basically, if you've listened to Suicidal Tendencies at some point in the past, you would know where the sound influence comes from. On the Infectious Grooves side, "These Freaks Are Here To Party" has strong grooves mixed in with hardcore to create an almost indecipherable sound. I feel that the best tracks are "You Lie...And Your Breath Stank", "Punk It Up" and "Monster Skank". If you're a fan of any of the bands mentioned above, you might enjoy these CDs. I think the sound quality could be better but otherwise, an interesting set to review. Keep in mind, on the Cyco Mike disc, the intro track is not on the actual CD so you'll have to watch it on the numbering of each track.

Sweet little folk-rock tunes with various instruments (accordion, violin/viola, and then the more traditional guitars, etc) in the vein of the Decemberists. This is artsy music with a twinge of international flair (after all, the band's name is Hey Marseilles). All tracks are pretty good. I personally really like the first and last tracks (1 and 13)-- they're really gorgeous instrumentals that would not be out of place on a movie soundtrack-- but they might be a bit too sappy for some DJs.

No-nonsense rock 'n roll for the Bruce Springsteen/Hold Steady crowd. This is a perfect, all-American album to play (loudly) while driving around on hot, midsummer evenings. Its gritty but polished and melodic anthems are one part post-punk for every three parts New Jersey Springsteen-esque rock. That said, the Gaslight Anthem's got nothing on the Boss...but they're capable of holding their own as an emerging artist. Check it out!
